I've never gotten up early enough to do an LJ entry before work, but here I am, watching GMTV and enjoying my bagel and tea in relatively leisurely pace.

Watched the Mexico v. France game last night. We watch all the games in this house (every single last one) but I think I'm getting more into the game. If anything, I have enough working knowledge to understand what's going on in the game and in the banter and chat that goes on in every newspaper, news station, etc. As well as the football conversation that happens around me daily at work, as I sit with 3 guys around me and they pretty much don't talk about anything else.

I do these every so often they pop up on my friends list. Wished I could remember the old entries to compare. If I remember correctly the score has just been getting better.

Been reading friends' list and commenting (a bit) and reading communities (immigration and Brit-American things) here on LJ but a full update seems to be a struggle. I have so much to say and so many pictures to share but I think I'm saving all that for when I'm unemployed and sitting in my flat bemoaning the lack of jobs and the abundance of rain and waiting for Danny to get home from work. However, don't get me wrong - I absolutely could not be happier about move. I'm not already a nostalgic expat. I am ready for it. This is going to be so amazing.

I submitted my online application and scheduled my biometrics appointment this afternoon. I'm halfway there!

I'm married (you may have seen some of my pictures on Facebook) but it sure doesn't feel like it. I don't get to see Danny for another two months and it's a lot, a lot harder than I thought it would be.

11 days away from the wedding. As last time, making a progress report helps gets my ideas together so there'll be one for tomorrow - the 10 day mark!

I hate wildfires. It's 81 degrees here, with hot Santa Ana winds, and this morning a brushfire started in the hills behind the high school. Thankfully the fire is 25% contained and is expected be fully contained by 10 pm tonight.

I've spent all morning refreshing my local news page and listening to the radio. Work has been dead. I don't know if it's because of the fire or what.

I hope that everything works out. Problem is, so many firefighters are already fighting the BIG fire in Montecito. It seems like this one isn't too bad and so far no homes have been destroyed and they've been successful in keeping the flames away from the neighborhood.

Scary stuff! I hate fires.

YES. OH MY GOD YES.

I remember being a freshman at LC and watching the 2004 election coverage. Everyone was crushed when Bush won again. Because we were all super liberals at a super liberal college everyone cried and drank and wore black the next day.

This is so much less dramatic but such a better win. It's 4 am in Scotland but I called Danny to let him know. He actually mustered up a good amount of energy for someone woken that early in the morning.

YAY! This is the one time I was I was back at LC. The parties would be on full swing by now. The entire campus's mood is going to be so happy and upbeat and joyful tomorrow. Ahh, I love this!

Other than my vote for Obama and no on Proposition 8, I have no idea who/what I'm voting for. I'm taking a look at my ballot tonight, then setting my alarm for 6 am to get up and vote tomorrow.

And then, hopefully having a pretty good day tomorrow with some really good news at the end!
